There is comfort in having a companion and someone to keep you safe and watch over you and that is just what Birds do. They keep each other company, eat together, play together and fellowshipping with their human counterparts as a family that belongs together and stays together. Birds I have found get lonely and frightened and alone just like people do so the comfort of a loved one is always a blessing and the way that God designed nature so that none of us are ever alone or lonely but have the love, companionship and presence of loved ones who care.
