Roman soldiers crucify Jesus on the bloody cross of Golgotha, the place of the skull. While this image is bloody and graphic, it is nothing more than just a mild representation of the suffering that Jesus went through as He took the place of all sinners and all of mankind on the cross. The beauty of this story is not that Jesus died but that He arose from the dead, just as He said He would. He did not have to die but did so on His own free will taking the place of our sins so that we might have a restored fellowship with God and be able to be with Him in glory for all eternity.
